May 3, 2023 - May 11, 2023

Dear Windom Residents,


We are making a call for NEW Board of Directors candidates starting April 17th through Wednesday, May 3rd 12 Noon.   Individuals from diverse backgrounds are highly encouraged to run.​

​

This election cycle (2-year term), we have 4 incumbents and 2 new vacant seats.


If you are interested in serving on the Board, please email the following to windomcommunity@gmail.com by Wednesday, May 3rd at 12 Noon:

  1. Your complete name and address.

  2. A candidate statement explaining the following:

    • Why are you interested in serving on the Board?

    • What experience and expertise do you bring to the Board?

    • How would you help the Board increase its outreach to neighborhood residents?

Your name, address, and candidate statement must be emailed to windomcommunity@gmail.com by Wednesday, May 3rd at 12 noon.   


You must be present at the May 11th 2023 Annual Board & Elections Meeting to secure a seat.


We have moved our neighborhood Board elections to an electronic voting format with the option to submit a paper ballot for those who can't access the e-ballot. 


Electronic voting via an e-ballot GOOGLE Forms will be made available starting May 1st in the afternoon. Proof of residency will need to be uploaded to the Google Forms e-ballot.


The paper ballot will be uploaded to this page on May 3rd 2023   and can be printed delivered to 5404 Wentworth Avenue along with proof of Windom neighborhood residency no later than May10th 2023.


Eligibility for membership is defined below as any individual who is at least 18 years old and is:
•    A resident in the neighborhood; or,
•    An owner or business lessee of real estate property in the neighborhood; or,
•    The designated representative of a nonprofit, educational organization in the neighborhood.


New Board Members will be seated at the next regularly scheduled Board meeting on June 13th.

 

We encourage you to learn, as much as you can, about serving on our Board.   


NOTE:  Due to WCC’s new neighborhood engagement contract requirements with the City of Minneapolis, Board members will spend a minimum of 10 volunteer hours per month serving the Windom neighborhood.  Additional hours may be required serving on committees and assisting with planning and implementing various events.
